We’re excited to announce that two of our physicians have taken on leadership positions with the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OSPC).
Dr. Alesia Wagner, the Southern California regional medical director for USHW, was re-elected to the OPSC Board of Directors as the new secretary-treasurer.
“It’s a great feeling to have my peers vote to keep me on the board of directors for another year,” said Dr. Wagner. “I’ll continue to work hard to keep OPSC operating as one of the best medical organizations in the state.”
Dr. Minh Nguyen, managing physician at our San Diego Hillcrest clinic, has been appointed as the chair of the OPSC’s Workers’ Compensation Committee.
“I’m honored to have been confirmed to serve on OPSC’s Workers’ Compensation Committee,” said. Dr. Nguyen. “Workers’ comp issues are of vital importance to all employers, especially here in California, as we work to make it more cost effective for everyone.”
As a division of the American Osteopathic Association, the OPSC’s mission is to help osteopathic physicians provide better, quality healthcare for patients, and to educate the public to better understand osteopathic medicine and its contribution to total healthcare.

This week we’re announcing the acquisition of all three Tucson Occupational Medicine healthcare centers, which brings the number of U.S. HealthWorks medical centers in Arizona to six.
The medical centers located in Tucson at 1661 W. Grant Rd., 2945 W. Ina Rd #103, and 888 S. Craycroft Rd #150 are occupational health facilities focused on providing injury and illness diagnosis and treatment, preventive services, pre-placement and post-offer exams and testing, and return-to-work programs. Terms of the transaction, which was effective February 19, were not disclosed. These are the first centers for U.S. HealthWorks in the Tucson area.
We’re excited to expand our footprint in Arizona with these highly regarded centers, and we look forward to serving clients and patients in the Tucson area. We welcome the medical staff and employees of these centers to the U.S. HealthWorks team.

We’re excited to announce that former California Governor Pete Wilson has joined our team as a member of our board of directors.
“I am looking forward to working with the leadership of U.S. HealthWorks as the firm enters a new growth phase,” said Governor Wilson. “As a partner in helping employers maintain healthy and productive workforces, the Company plays an important role in the American economy.”
Governor Pete Wilson has almost 40 years of public service experience and was the 36th governor of California, serving from 1991 to 1999. During his tenure as governor, California faced many fiscal challenges, but Governor Wilson led the state into a strong economic recovery with strict spending discipline. His aggressive and effective economic development policy reforms won dramatic increases in investment and job creation for California.
He also served eight years as a U.S. Senator, 11 years as mayor of San Diego, and five years as a California state assemblyman.
Governor Wilson received his B.A. from Yale University and, after serving three years in the Marine Corps as an infantry officer, earned a J.D. from the School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley.
“We are honored to have Governor Wilson join our board of directors,” said Daniel D. Crowley, CEO of U.S. HealthWorks. “Governor Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help guide our Company as we grow.”
Jeanne Osterlund is the newest member to move up in the U.S. HealthWorks family. She was just appointed as the head of sales for our 128 medical centers nationwide.
Osterlund has been in sales management for more than 20 years, the last nine of which have been spent at U.S. HealthWorks as a regional sales director managing multiple territories in the country. Prior to joining U.S. HealthWorks, Osterlund was with HealthSouth, where she managed sales for all of their San Diego divisions.
In her new role as national sales director, Osterlund will be responsible for growing sales at the medical center level, as well as developing regional and statewide accounts for U.S. HealthWorks.
“We are very pleased to have somebody of Jeanne’s caliber and background to lead our sales teams and guide their development,” said Diane Yu, vice president of sales and marketing. “Her depth of experience working in the occupational medicine field coupled with extensive management abilities and sales knowledge will allow us to develop the strongest sales force possible.”
“I am excited by this new opportunity and look forward to sharing my knowledge with our sales associates and serving our clients nationwide,” Osterlund said. “I’ve been in the field of occupational medicine for many years and feel privileged to work for a leader in the industry.”
Osterlund earned a BA in Business Management at New Mexico State University.
